On 9800S and 9902S there is a problem, the cam is not recognized all time at bootup, and few peoples have reported that the Joker and ICECrypt (BLACK) modules may be destroyed at powerup.
After few investigations on PCMCIA socket, it apears that when you put your STB in standby the 5V is shuted down, but few data lines remains actives.
With this hardware modification to the STB the cam is recognized at 100%, and this solve the potentiel cam crash ( The eeprom corrupted because the power is removed on the cam with data lines actives ).
This modification keep the ci interface power under ( at 4.3V ) during standby, and remove spikes at power on.
You needed the
following components:
1 100 micro Farad in 15 volts capasitor ( 100µF/15v ) of axial type
1 100 nano Farad or 0.1 micro Farad capasitor ( 100nF or 0.1µF )
1 diode 1N4148

Nokia 9800S

You can take 5v from the welding marked "RC56"

This is another revision of 9800s board with the modification.
Nokia 9902S

You can take 5v from the left pin of the molex connector
Some peoples have aslo reported problems
to flash the Joker and ICECrypt (BLACK) on 9800S and 9902S. Excepted this problem the Joker work really
good on these STB, zapping faster and more stable.
This
modification can also help with MM + Clones and old type
Irdeto Freecam, NO more catastrophic results ( freeze, hang, missing
channels... ).
